The Zachary Taylor Parkway Commission, as part of their regularly scheduled quarterly open meeting to be held July 8, 2015, at 10:00 am at the Cottonport Camp at 1055 Old River Road in Mansura in Avoyelles Parish, will hear a presentation regarding the ongoing planning process for the transportation corridor. The presentation is open to the general public and public comment is welcomed. In January, the Zachary Taylor Parkway Commission engaged N-Y Associates of New Orleans and their partners Urban Systems and TMG Consulting to draft a Scenic Byways Master Plan, Traffic Study, and Economic Development Plan for the Parkway. This is the Parkway’s first major planning effort in five years. The Commission received State funding through the Office of Community Development Disaster Recovery Unit to facilitate the project, which will be completed by October 2015. The Commission is engaging stakeholders and seeking public comment to ensure everyone in the ZTP region has a voice in the planning process.
Please submit any written comments to the Zachary Taylor Parkway Commission through August 30, 2015, to PO Box 14265, Baton Rouge, LA 70898 or ScenicZTP@gmail.com.
